Jacques Dufort to concentrate on the Haitian market and consolidate it until it became the famous coffee brand that we know now. After Gonaives and then Carrefour, Dufort (named after the family), REBO has now established its plant in Port-au-Prince.

For a long time Haiti was the first Caribbean coffee exporter but eventually the Dominican Republic took first place. The production and the exportation have greatly diminished since the 70's.At that time, close to 700 000 bags were being produced in Haitian factories, out of which 500 000 were strictly for exportation. Now the production is around 450 000 bags out of which 60 to 100 000 are kept for exportation. This drop is partly due to the lack of help from the Haitian government, failing to encourage peasants to keep on with the production of coffee.
